The name Escada sounds so good for a perfume, even before we smell it. What’s in a name you might ask? An attractive sounding name for a perfume or cologne is not just good business sense and easy to market, but very importantly, a good perfume name is remembered even when you think it is forgotten. Escada make an Eau De Toilette Spray called Ocean Lounge. It is for women but the name ‘ocean lounge’ leaves a lot to be desired and would not be my first choice if I were trying to judge on name alone.

Much better sounding is another Escada product called Escada Magnetism, also for women and a much more desirable name, don’t you think? It is such a pity about the bottle that is used for magnetism, which is an Eau De Parfum Spray, because it is awful looking and tactile, it is not. That said Magnetism has a wonderful smell.

Escada has many perfumes and fragrances to its credit and the names of some of them are as follows, Sentiment, Magnetism, Escada S, Marine Groove, Into the blue, Ocean Lounge, Taj Sunset and Moon Sparkle to name but a few. To my mind, Sentiment and Magnetism are the best followed by Escada S because of the brevity of their names. The double barreled and triple barreled perfume names just don’t cut the mustard so to speak. It might well be that Escada Moon Sparkle is nicer than Sentiment but semantically Sentiment or Magnetism is better.

I am taking these two Escada Perfume samples first before we get drawn (pun intended) to the real deal below. Escada S is for women and was launched in 2007 by the house of Escada. The smell is a flowery floral one but with hints of woodiness from the mahogany, sandalwood and hazelnut notes. It leaves a musky afterglow that is not really to everyone’s taste.
